Words To Live By

The Set:

  • Never Let Go by Matt Redman
  • 'Til I See You by Hillsong
  • Holy and Anointed One by Vineyard

Sermon: Luke Mauer

Words to live by. Everyone should have verses to base their life on. Something to push themselves to God's calling.

Mark 12:30-32-Think about others. Reach out. Respect them, and help them to the best of your ability. (Sonicflood makes shoveling the driveway easier...btw)

Ephesians 6:1-3 Honor your parents. They know what is best for you and are looking out for you. You get a reward for it. It removes fighting.

Psalm 100:1-2 Worship. Worshiping God is a "great communication" with God. If you worship and then wait a while in silence. Don't think of it as an obligation. Give worship joyfully. Do anything with joy and love and cheer and He loves it more and you get a lot more out of it. Don't be worried about what other people think of you. Be an example.

Matthew 5:14-16 Be a light to others. Be joyful in your life to bring joy to others lives.

Notes From the Peanut Gallery:

The challenge for tonight was to find the verses in your life that you want to devote your life to. So, that's what I would like to open up to you all to COMMENT about. What verses do you live by? What have you etched on the tablet of your heart? For me, Proverbs 3:3 has been running through my mind a lot since I went to NYC. "Don't lose your grip on Love and Loyalty. Tie them around your neck; carve their initials on your heart." (Message). That's it for this weeks Wednesday Wrap (<--------Now that's catchy. Just came up with it too).

  1. I love this! I'm sad I missed out on hearing Luke preach... A couple verses that are near and dear to my heart...

Jeremiah 29:11 (I know it's cliché, but it's so good!) "I know what I'm doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for."

Romans 8:28 "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."

Isaiah 43:1 "Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name; you are Mine!"

Psalm 139:14 "I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Your works are wonderful, I know that full well."

Ok... I have a lot! haha :) Sounds like a good word tonight!

  2. "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God!" Ephesians 2:8

  3. Psalm 55:22 says "Cast your burden on the Lord and He will sustain you. He will never permit the righteous to be moved."

This verse is so encouraging to me. Its such a good reminder that God cares about each and every stupid (luke's not allowed to say that) thing that bothers me. And He will take care of it.

  4. Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity. 1 Timothy 4:12
Sometimes we forget that the disciples were no older than we are now, and they impacted the world for Christ like no one else has since then. God has given us this world for a reason, and this verse is a constant reminder to step out and be a leader in everything.
